Itinerary (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner)

 

DAY 1: ATHENS Arrival at the Athens International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2: ATHENS - EPIDAURUS - MYCENAE - OLYMPIA (B,D) After breakfast, early morning departure by air conditioned motor coach to start your Classical Tour of Greece. A drive via Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive to Epidaurus for a visit of the archaeological site and the theatre famous for its remarkable acoustics, and then on to Nafplion for a short stop. Drive to Mycenae where you visit the archaeological site, then depart for Olympia, through the central Peloponnese area passing the cities of Megalopolis and Tripolis.

DAY 3: OLYMPIA - DELPHI (B,D) In the morning visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the site of Olympia. Visit the famous stadium of the Olympic Games. You will also visit the impressive Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, and one of the greatest sculptures of all time, “Hermes” by Praxiteles. Drive via Patras to Rion, cross the channel to Antirion on the "state of the art" new suspended bridge considered to be the longest and most modern in Europe. Arrive in Nafpaktos, then continue to Delphi.

DAY 4: DELPHI (B,D) Today you visit the archaeological site and the Delphi Museum. Depart for Kalambaka. Drive through Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala to Meteora.

DAY 5: METEORA - ATHENS (B) In the morning, visit the breathtaking Meteora - a cluster of monastic buildings perched in an unforgettable manner on a set of rising rock formations. Your included visit is certainly the day's highlight. Early in the afternoon start the drive back to Athens passing via Thermopylae and Kammena Vourla.

DAY 6: ATHENS (B) After breakfast depart on an Athens city tour which will introduce you to the most important sites of the city. You will visit the famed Acropolis with its dominating view, and the site of the renowned Parthenon, one of the most impressive structures in the world, followed by a visit to the Acropolis Museum. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 7: ATHENS (B) Day at leisure to visit the National Archaeological Museum or perhaps stroll the old center streets of Athens for some last minute souvenirs before your cruise departure.

DAY 8: ATHENS - MYKONOS (B,L,D) Transfer to Piraeus, the main port of Athens, to embark on your awaiting cruise ship.

The first port of call today will be the jet set island of Mykonos. Stroll at leisure through the white-washed, flower-decked alleyways to the sculpture like church of Paraportiani, or along the waterfront to the famous windmills.

DAY 9: KUSADASI - PATMOS (B,L,D) Early morning arrival into Kusadasi, a most popular Turkish port and gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus. In the afternoon, your ship will call at the island of Patmos. Here you can visit the Monastery of St. John, where the Book of Revelations was written.

DAY 10: RHODES (B,L,D) Early morning arrival into Rhodes, the island of Roses. You will spend a full day on the island to explore on your own or embark on an optional sightseeing tour. Or simply hire a taxi and go to one of the nearby beaches for a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean.

DAY 11: HERAKLEION - SANTORINI (B,L,D) In the morning the ship will call at Herakleion, Crete. Here you may choose to discover the town on your own or embark on an optional excursion to the Minoan Palace of Knossos, followed by a visit to the Herakleion Museum. The next destination today is the island of Santorini, the land of the fabled Atlantis. After strolling through the narrow streets of the town, enjoy the breathtaking view of the volcanic site below while sipping a cool refreshment.

DAY 12: ATHENS - DEPARTURE (B) Disembark from your cruise and transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
